After contemplating for a long time whether to attempt doing any repairs on our 70+-year-old one-of-a-kind model, the decision was made to send it off to help preserve it from further deterioration as some of the wood was splitting, among other concerns.
This one-of-a-kind, one of ever built salesman sample that Henry Kaiser had made to emulate the one and only real Intercity Articulated Bus he built in 1946, is the only living piece of history we know of as the actual bus itself was scrapped in 1951. This model was built for the Kaiser sales team to carry around to operators to show them some of the features, and what the next version of this bus would look like had production continued. We also have the original carrying cases built for this model it was transported in.
Though my photos aren’t the best, here are the shots of it after the repairs, along with shots of a few other models to give a comparison to its size as this articulated model measures just over 5’6″ long.
