Rally Schedule

Note: This is preliminary information to help provide some of the rally details. We will provide updates as details come available given more options are being sought to add to the venue.

Given the large interest of this rally, volunteer staff will be on-site throughout the rally to help coordinate and assist in parking to help minimize congestion. We will be seeking an off-site staging area if possible for participants to park near the rally site prior to the 2pm opening if necessary. Maps with outlined instructions will be added here once the city provides us with the final provisions of dedicated areas to accommodate parking around the depot rally site. The Rally Site will encompass a large open field behind the old restored Greyhound Depot, (Bru Burgers) and City streets surrounding rally site will be blocked off as needed for rally participant parking. Overnight parking is approved for Friday and Saturday nights both in the rally field and on surrounding city streets. No overnight parking beyond rally dates.

Keep in mind there are no provisions for RV hook-ups of any type at rally site. Buses will be free to come and go as desired. Any groups of 5 or more buses wishing to park together may be arranged in advance. Please be mindful the Greyhound depot is a full time operating restaurant, (Bru Burgers) so we must be respectful to their customers in every aspect as to not to block any customer parking dedicated to the restaurant operations. Bru Burgers is excited about the rally and for those interested in the historical aspect coming to see the results of its restoration, we simply want to be sure we respect their daily business endeavors. Photo ops will be coordinated outside the depot such to also not interfere with Bru Burgers daily business.

The Busboys Rally is also being promoted locally by the Evansville Chamber of Commerce, so expect many local spectators showing up in addition to the rally participants to enjoy viewing everyone’s vintage bus, much the same as other automobile shows. If you choose to allow people to board your bus for viewing, you will be responsible for your own security measures to assist those you allow inside.

Friday September 22, 2017, 2pm:  Opening check-in for onsite participant parking and vendor set-up begins. Busboys will have a registration tent and staff on duty throughout the rally. Participants will stage their buses or equipment in designated areas assisted by rally staff. No specific venue is planned for this day other than begin lining up and staging buses and other equipment as orderly as possible. Ballots will be available at rally registration/check-in table to vote for your favorite bus in various categories. Ballots must be returned to registration/check-in area by 10am Sunday. Winners will be announced during presentation Sunday afternoon prior to rally parade.
